I have a store that sells only healthy pet food, and my customers would be glad to sign. I would like to collect signatures at my store and talk to my customers about the initiative, perhaps encouraging some of them to collect signatures.

There are many ways you can get involved. The initiative has just begun in earnest and it will be a long road ahead of us. We need passionate people who are committed to the cause of knowing what is in our food.

Here are some of the areas where we will need volunteers:

    - Regional Leaders - Recruit other petition circulators and be a source for providing new petition sections to other circulators

    - Trainers - Organize and lead Petition Trainings

    - Collect petition signatures to get the initiative on the ballot (you must attend a brief training) Sign up to attend here.

    - Fundraising - through events and soliciting corporate sponsorships

    - Events - Attending events as a representative of the group, educating others about the efforts, and eventually gathering petition signatures if that is a requirement for a ballot initiative.

and many other areas still to be determined! Let us know where you would like to contribute!

I have a store in Glenwood Springs that sells pet food, and GMO labeling is a concern for pet food consumers. I would be happy to collect signatures in my store, and I suspect if you do some outreach to the Western Slope communities, it would pay off!
